I have 3 acres and quite a variety of oak trees. One large water oak has a trunk circumference of about 4 feet and is a main stay of my property. I just noticed the leaves were discolored, black splotches on most leaves that are still green, with alot of dead leaves throughout the tree (about 10 - 20% leaves dead). The leaves thin out and drop each January or February, but I never noticed before the extent of any damage. I did some searching concerning oak tree diseases and I didn't see anything which jumps out to explain what may be occurring. None of the other water oaks appear to have similar problems. This is a beautiful tree and I really want to preserve it. I don't have any fungus or other potential problems.

Any help would be appreciative. Any recommendations of an arborist specialist in my local area (central Florida DeLand) would be appreciated as well.

Thanks
