I own several hundred acres of forest and am looking to obtain a used chipper. One of these is coming up at auction with 1600 hours, 8 cyl gas engine.
Would there be any service left in the beast assuming reasonable condition for age? What would one pay?
Any other suggestions as to where I would find a reasonable machine for less than 7K?
Thanks
R Karem

JMHO, but 1,600 hours ain't that much. I see gas machines going 5,000+ before any serious trouble.

Wayne chipper aren't made anymore and I have rebuilt a few but had hard time finding bed plate on chipper head. I wont pay over $2500 for one. You can find a used disc for $5000 and up. I will have several later this spring; Morbark 12" with Cummins Diesel engine all rebuilt, sandbalsted and painted will look and run like new around $9500.

Looking for Chipper

Thanks guys,
Looked at the machine today. Seemed in poor repair, not running. Given parts difficulty I may hold out for a newer model. Looking on the West Coast, N. California, Oregon, E. Nevada region for a sub 10K machine.
