When i bought my MS290 last year the dealer just put a chain on it for me and i bought a 2nd one to go with it. They are both RMC3. i have a .325" pitch with 0.063 guage.

I would like to get a couple extra spare chains and want to know if i should go with a plain RMC or RSC?

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks

The RM is the anti-kickback chain. I'd file that OE-POS razor-sharp, it would blaze through small limbs but load up on big wood. Get the RS, huge performance difference.

Ok, Can you file the dogs down, or what ever they are called so that it would be more like an RS chain?

Yeah it seems to load up on the bigger stuff like you said.

no.... rsc and rmc are different chains. Unless you are boring, the rmc3 and rmc will cut the same

RSCx is better for clean wood; rmcx for firewood or "on the ground"
