I am curious what you guys would choose if you could only have four saws in your arsenal? The saws have to be stock saws and money is no option. I know different parts of world has different tree sizes so figure the battery needs to manage everything. The saws are just used for falling not milling! Once you choose I am curious why and with what bar length?

Stupid game but what the heck humor me:)

Heres my list:

Husqy 338xpt: 12" bar, very light, easy to maneuver, ect.
Husqy 550xp: 18" bar, great for smaller to mid sized stuff, light, high reving for quick limbing
Husqy 372xpw: 24" bar, does most of the big stuff, amazing power/weight ratio
Husqy 395xpw: 36" bar, fun, cuts anything, think that covers it

A pole saw cause they are really handy to have.

MS026/260/261 wearing a 16" 3/8 b&c for the small stuff you didn't get with the pole saw.

MS046/460/461 wearing a 20" or 25" 3/8 b&c for the bigger stuff.

And a MS066/660 wearing a 36" 3/8 b&c just in case a really big tree gets in your way.

I thought you found a saw that ran on 4 batteries! Oh well,
1) earthquake
2) craftsman
3) makita electric, with a 1000ft ext cord
4) Wild Thing!

Seriously,
1) HT131
2) 550xp
3) 441 mtronic
4) 385/390xp ported

What the heck. I'll play along. I'd have to go with the 346xp, 372xp, and 395xp for certain. Bar lengths would be 16, 24, and 36 inches respectively. This three saw plan will handle 100% of what I encounter, to pick a fourth is tough. If you hadn't put the no milling stipulation, it would be a 3120xp. But why not add a good tweener and make it a ms361? Or maybe a nice top handle? Say a 338xpt? Then again, for nostalgic reasons, a sxl. Oh what the hell, lets just make the fourth saw another 346.

I kinda like my current 4 saw plan.

026 pro x 16"
036 pro x 20"
MS460 x 24"
084 x 42"

Haven't found a tree they can't handle yet.

Stihl 026/260/261 OR Husqvarna 346xp - 16" bar

Stihl 036/360/361 - 18" bar

Stihl 046/460 OR Husqvarna 372xp - 20" bar and 24" bar

Husqvarna 385xp or 390xp - 24" bar and 32" bar

Use the 026 for limbing and trail clearing, the 361 is a great firewood saw and a good do it all saw if you can only carry one, the 460 is my go to felling and bucking saw and the 385/390 is for the bigger stuff.

went to do a bunch of storm clean up today and brought the following saws:
Stihl 028 Super, 026, 026, Mac 10-10A
Husky 55, 455
Jonsered 2172
Stihl MS660

Used the 028 and one 026 (16" bar)
Used the Jonsered 2172 (18" bar)
Used the Stihl MS660 (20" bar)

Should have brought a longer bar for the 660 (a 24" would have done it)

The other saws were ready to go but unused today.

My lineup of four saws would be my 019T, 026, 046, 066. the 019T would wear a 12 or 14" bar, the 026 a 16" the 046 and 066 would share an assortment of bars from 20" to 36"
