What's a decent aftermarket bar and chain

I forgot to mention, no matter what aftermarket bar I run; 99% of the time I'm running stihl chain on my saws.

me too. Don't mind paying a few bucks for a Stihl chain. I really like the stihl bars but just don't know if I want to pony up bucks required to get into one. I know it sounds stupid...but i like the way they hold paint.

I agree on the Stihl chain. You just can't beat'em on staying sharper longer. I have used Oregon but they don't compare, I was always filing them in the field no matter what wood I was in the cut. RSC, RMC seemed to work best for me. On a side note GB bars are good also I just could'nt get one in my pitch and gauge.

Last set I bought, I couldn't pass up the price on a Arbor Max combo. It's a laminated bar, but it seems to hold up well so far. For under 30 bucks can't go wrong.
