I'd like to get something that can run a 44" bar or bigger. None of my local dealers have the ms881, the biggest they have is ms660, which can only do 36".
I see stihl clones/knockoffs like the Holzforma, but unsure about the quality as I have seen some negative reviews. Is the MS881 available near you?

You're probably going to have to order one. I've never seen one in a store/dealer. When I had an 880, bought from a guy that ordered it, decided it wasn't for me, it took me a year to sell it. And it was in mint condition. A very special purpose saw that few can justify or effectively use. I could have made better use of mine, but you need a tractor to handle the cut pieces. No tractor = BIG saw, a waste of money.

The G888 is a clone copy of the later run 880 with 2 piece muffler.

They also cut darn good and out cut the 088 cast muffler OEM ones. I disliked the limited coil in it so put a 361 coil in it.

Worth the 6 clams to me and many others.
