GET CHAPS, and WEAR them. I got by for over 40 years cutting and only got one scratch above the knee. I got "religion" and bought a pair and wear them. Glad that you have recovered sufficiently to go back to work. I had a similar injury not chain saw, but badly busted up cut. I got it from a low receiver hitch on a pickup. It was deep and bruised the bone. I figured I didn't need stitches, big mistake. I messed with that for several months. Good luck. JR
