Will it grow in the NEK

Hi I am from the Northeast kingdom in VT we have harsh long cold winters... Will a Japaneese Magnolia grow and live Here?

I live along Lake Erie, some bad winters here and while I don't know if your choice will grow in your conditions I can tell you that Star Magnolia does just fine here.

I've seen Magnolia stellata doing well in Stowe and in the Kingdom in protected spots. The likelihood it it becoming a large specimen, however, is slim.
