Fortunate to have my father -in-law hook me up with his friend and some free wood in a cow pasture. The big round is from a fallen oak and the other wood is from a dead or dying and mostly barkless tree. The bark from the 2 trees is similar, but the fallen oak has much thicker bark. The small round (obviously) is much darker too. These were all cut today.

Thanks for any help in identificaton.

I have to go along with them both being Oaks. Some Honey Locust have big 3" thorns all over them.

Thanks guys. After looking more at the bark from both your expertise makes sense. Now, back to cutting these rascals down and up.

Cheers,

Kay
