Wood Identification? Beech?

Hey There,

I've got a chance to come grab up a bunch of wood, but I really like to know what I'm getting before I grab it up. Is this American Beech? Any help is greatly appreciated.

The color of the bark looks slightly off but I may also be color blind...

Like I said, looks like Ash to me from the pic,,maybe white ash,

I thought ash initially, but the redness threw me off. I've had this type of wood before, and it didn't jive with my ash as far as looks go. It may be a different type.

I do realize any wood is good wood, but I like to know what I have

Just came back from checking it out. FYI The white bark ended up looking like Elm, and the red bark was gone.

When you're dealing with ornamentals in someone's back yard, you're liable to find any species from almost any place in the world. This wouldn't have been a native tree.

There are several beeches in my neighbourhood, some a pretty good size. I'm not even close to being in the natural growing area.
