I have a 89 Woodchuck Chipper with a 4 cylinder Cummins Diesel
HY/ROLLER 17 Disc type
When the clutch is engaged it squeals some then there is quite a bit of vibration.
Does that mean it needs a clutch soon?

Check the belts. Make sure tension is correct and make sure none have rolled over in thier groove.

vibration

Thanks for the reply.
I spoke to someone that works on equipment and he said that the disc was out of balance.
It looks like some added a weld at the top of the disc and there is no room for it It scrapes on one side of the weld in the cover.I also spoke to some one else that says there a way to balance the disc.It looks like there is a repair to the enclosure where the disc turns. He said sometimes there you might have a tree with some steel in it.and it will tear up a machine. Has anyone else run run in to this condition?

a lot less vibration.

Well, It has a factory balance weight that was weld spot on one side.
I added a bit of weld material to the disc here and there and removed some here and there.
Now there is a lot less vibration.
The belt still makes noise when first engaged. It might still need adjustment or need to be changed.
I will let the next owner do that.
Runs good and chips great!
Thanks
