here's a few pics from my recent trip to peru, for those interested.

the summit was 19,800 ft.

we went up the ridge line on the left.

we started the climb around midnite and did not get back to camp until 7:30 the next night.

Sh!t, all we have around here are 14ers. I had a groundie from Slovakia that climbed the Andes and Himilayas. He was one hell of a cool guy. I wish he would come on back to the states.

Jack,

The hut was built in commemoration of Alice Valle, who lost her life in a snowstorm, along with a rescuer, while climbing Long’s in 1925.

This is what Long's looked like last year when we tried to climb it, in August! The Ranger said the wind was blowing in excess of 70 mph on top that day. It can turn ugly real fast while you're up there.

Did I miss the name of the peak in Peru?

Snow is expected down to 10,000' on the Front Range tonight. 65 high in Denver tomorrow means snow and cold up higher.
