I live in the suburbs and have a plethora of ash and silver maple. In the summer and early fall, I sell my silver maple to my customers because they have fires in the fire pits all the time. In the winter, I sell those same people the ash and if I any, oak and locust. Even though I could charge more based on BTU's, I don't. I'm upfront with my customers and they keep coming back. It didn't cost me more to process the ash so I personally don't see the need to charge more. This is also not a full time job so my margin isn't as important as someone feeding their kids with it.
