Xado, is it snake oil or super oil?

I was informed today of a revolutionary new product that actually rebuilds worn surfaces. Have a look at http://www.xado-us.com/index.html

Sounds too good to be true? Perhaps, but lets see what we can dig up.

Procedure for treating a 2-cycle engine with pre-mixed fuel and oil system

Step 1


Squeeze out the contents of one sachet into the full fuel tank (it is recommended first to dissolve the contents of the packet in the oil at temperature 104-122F (40-50°C) or in the gas at temperature above 68F (20° C).

Run as normal.

NOTE: For small engines, use 1 packet for each gallon of premix and use as normal.

Step 2
Repeat Step 1 when you refill the tank (the gas with gel should be fully consumed).


Step 3
Repeat Step 2

NOTE: For small engines, (chainsaws, trimmers, etc.) use 1 packet of MOTO to treat one gallon of pre-mix. Run the equipment as normal.

Pretty weird, but surely if it were bull they wouldn't be global, do some searches on the net and they're all over.

I just cant figure out how it would work. Besides, on a 2 stroke, now the cylinders are made with the nikasil linings, so a cylinder wont really see much wear, unless one has run the engine lean for too long.

May be we should all chip in to a pot, order some, have one of the contributing techs here use it in a saw that he feels it is worth trying it in to test it and then review the results.

You never know what could be learned in such a test.
