    finally clean glass

I’ve always (last 4 years) had a problem keeping my glass clean. Our Napoleon High Country has such a big firebox (4.5cu feet) that the glass just never seems to get hot enough to burn off any smoke/creosote. Anyhow this year I have tried a new technique that has really been working well. I...

    385xp oil leak

Update OK I took it apart checked the oiler hole on the bar, (flipped the bar) cleaned it up, torqued the oil adjustment to tight (was loose) fired it up. Cut some wood and saw the oil again dripping down the orange plastic guard on the bar side. On closer inspection i realized that it is not...

Mike First let me say thanks for your help, now to answer your questions -oil leaking only when saw is running -only ran saw for 15 minutes so not out of oil or fuel -saw chain was lubricated and while running and pointed at stump sprayed oil lightly on stump (this seemed correct) - pretty...

    385xp oil leak

I inherited a used 2002 Husky 385xp. Started it up just fine, but as I was running it I noticed an excess amount of oil on the wood I was cutting then extra oil dripping out and down on the guard on the bar side, finally it began to smoke a little which I believe was just the excess oil...

So who wants to sell me a slab?

I've been pretty successful finding some great friends here who have been able to sell me some slabs I use for making tables. I've run out of wood and need some for another table. I am looking for some interesting wood maybe walnut or something nice 3-4" thick live edge and maybe 24" in any...

Need name of reputable Firewood in Southern New Jersey (NJ)

One last thing, No matter how much they tell you that it is seasoned, it takes at least a full 12months split for oak to fully seasoned. THe stuff most sell as seasoned here can be trees felled up to 2 years and waiting to be split. So even though it burns, it doesn't burn like fully seasoned...

Need name of reputable Firewood in Southern New Jersey (NJ)

Not really, its the heart of "red Oak" country. Everyone is selling it but not everyone is selling an honest "cord". When you do find someone selling exactly what they advertise you stick with them.

Need name of reputable Firewood in Southern New Jersey (NJ)

    ever heard of this method?

Whenever I call to have wood delivered I always ask how long its been split. One guy told me that he cuts standing dead only. I asked him how he finds that many dead trees? he said he use to cut trees then split and stack year round to get ahead but sometimes the wood rots or gets bugs on the...

Warm fall, low fires= Creosote hell!!

Hey Dinger I have a large zero clearance fireplace like yours. Mine is the Napoleon NZ6000. Like to run big and hot. I've enjoyed mine and it does well heating my 3000 house. Just wanted to know if you have the same problem as me in keeping the glass clean. I find that the stove box is so...

Think I got ripped off....what can I do about it?

You really got ripped off. SOme people feel like fools so they will not try to take it back or call the seller on it. Call the seller, tell him what you found. Tell him you want him to make it right. Have him deliver the other half. If he refuses then you can decide what to do. At a minimum I...

Pro's and con's of Napoleon inserts

Napoleon is a well made stove. However they save money on their customer service. If you ever have a problem you can only work thru your installer/rep. THats an OK arrangement as long as your installer is a good one and stays on top of Napoleon who is very slow at about sending parts answering...
