Saw is 044 and has a 20" bar. Must be overkill. Im taking them off in the morning, Its a shame, they look cool, but they make the saw unsafe. I am usually only cutting 6-22in logs in diameter.

Hello, was wondering if anyone else bought these Pro Safety 5 point felling Dawgs from Baileys. They look cool, however they cause my saw chain to get stuck in the wood. Maybe they are too big. So far not happy with them. Any input would be great. :mad:

I bought a farmboss and it was a bad mistake, better off with 026 ms260 almost the same power and lighter. Farmboss is waste of money. Better to save your $$$ for an 044 for just a tad more in weight.

I spoke to someone at the stihl dealer, and he said that the newer chisel chains will not flick the oil off onto a log. They are redesigned to keep the oil on the bar. Hope this helps others. Thanx

I believe it is the catalytic converter model, I have a thread with more infor on the 044c. May also have the automatic choke.

I just posted thread about 044c You would have to remove the muffler and replace it and probably retune saw. According to Stihl this model had a catalytic converter on it, which probably made it hot, less powerful and less reliable. for more information check my threads. thanx Good LUck
