    Log splitter down

I have a torch tip cleaning tool that I use to clear passages on my carb. After you mess with them a few times, you will be an expert. Needles can stick after sitting a while but sometimes a light tap on the side will free them up. New gaskets can be ordered if needed.

    The Fire Pit Thread

Those are some serious kabobs! I know this is an older pic but I'd love to know what's all in them.

York county man killed by falling tree.

    Cherry

That's beautiful. Bark looks like cherry, but the wood looks a little lighter than most of the cherries ive cut. BTW, I had a few in my yard a bit bigger than that.

    The Bicycle Powered Log Splitter...

Furthermore, Amish bikes do not have peddals, sprockets or gears. They are really just scooters.

    Speeco...Lovejoy...kaboom...

3/16? Never heard of a 3.5 mm. Doubt a cutting wheel would heat the shafts much. I'd drill them out. But I've swapped a million love joys and never needed a specialty Allen. Try another 3/8 maybe.

    Slow splitter cycle time

Could the engine be running at lower rpms? That would slow down the ram. Just reread your post. Why did you replace the engine?

22 Ton vs. 28 Ton Log Splitters

I have a 33 ton white splitter. It's the only splitter I've ever owned, and the only splitter I've ran in the last 20 years. The only other time I ran a splitter was so long ago, I can't remember anything about it except it split wood. I use just about every bit of 33 tons in my day to day...

    Staineless flue

Can anyone school me on my one piece flexible stainless flue? It's hooked up to my wood stove, and it spans about 30 feet. I believe it's a 6 inch. I'm wondering about it's life span under various conditions. I clean it almost every season. Thanks for any and all info.

stupid people (not my opinion but the title of this video).

I had to come back to add, the guy on the mower is lucky to be alive too!

stupid people (not my opinion but the title of this video).

I don't know if this is the proper place for this video but since there is a lot of talk about people getting themselves hurt, I'll add it. I love these types of videos as most of the world does. Just in case someone missed it on youtube, here it is. About halfway through there is a person on...

    Job with Asplundh

I used to work on their equipment in PA (tractors, mowers, and such). I would say yes it would be a great learning experience. I don't know what they pay but these days lots of people would just like to have a steady job. There is plenty of time to make money after graduation.

    Growing your own firewood?

Seems like a reasonable thing to do. I would check into better trees. I know time is a big factor here. consider: I have burned lots of tulip poplar and it is ok if free. What could it hurt to try, if you have the space. What do they charge per tree? Seems you could take tons of clippings...

Dunno, is this hickory really worth it?

I totally agree with Pacman. Keep in mind how much your time is worth. A wise man one said, "there is so much wood to remove from the forest, don't be afraid to give some back." Unless you are in a real pinch, stay with the stuff that you can split effortlessly and move on. I have been down...

    Still Burning?

I am still burning every night. It is warming up here in PA during the day, nut like you said, it is still cold at night. I have about three years worth split and stacked, with about one more years supply cut and waiting to be split. I am currently trying to burn up all of the odd shaped...

Home Owner and his new toy!

At least the saw started and ran for him. I had a lot more trouble with my Crapsman A few years ago when I started visiting this site. Now I am just wondering what he will do with all of the wood.

Am I the only one who likes to buy the most useless stuff just to make life easier?

about the earing protection I saw them at Graingers, and considered buying them for about a minute. I didn't like the bulkiness or color(bright Green) plus, you have to supply the mp3 player. Not to mention the prrice. Here is what I have been using for a few years. I have a little 256k...
