    opinions on ms192t

Thanks for all the input, My primary climbing saw is a 200t, heading into the slower winter months I thought I would save a little jack by going with the 192t . Hope I'm not disappointed. With wood over 12 inches seems I'm hauling up my 361 more and more and flying through logs in a fraction...

    opinions on ms192t

Was wondering how the Stihl 192t compares to the 200t. It is $200 cheaper and it would serve as my back up saw. Its about 5cc's less than the 200t and I don't think any of the parts are interchangeable. Thanks for your input..... Boynat

    Restore the Old Oak

pay rate Just curious if you generally charge by the hour on a job like this. I know its hard to tell how much is up there until you're actually in the tree. I sometime have a hard time estimating my time on these type of jobs, so with a set price i sometimes don't made what i had hoped to...

    rot prevention on weeping willow

I recently worked on a weeping willow that lost part of it's top in a storm. Its about a 20-22 inch limb, I cut the break off flush and on an angle so water would run off. Is there anything else that can be done to protect a wound of this size that will obviously never heal.....sheet metal...

Can any one recommend a source that fully explains how to fell a tree the opposite direction of the lean using wedges, something with diagrams and an explanation of how to figure the segments a tree has and how many wedges will be needed to fell a tree the opposite direction of the lean. I've...

Opinions Please - Cut This Tree ??

My dad had a friend die while he was sleeping when a tree fell during a storm. It hit the house over the bedroom, didn't go through the house but knocked a shelf down and it landed on his head. That tree looks like it could do alot more than knock something off the wall if it were to come down...

    Which 24-strand? fly vs velocity

Just wondering what the preferred 24-strand kernmantle climbing line is. I've only used 16-strand arbormaster but would like to try something a little lighter. Whats your fav? Fly, Velocity or anything else? do you like the tight eye splice on the velocity?

    codominant stems

just wondering what everybody's opinion is on when is a co-dominant stem to large to be removed. I'm talking about trees with V-crotches that could someday split if they are not either braced or removed. 9,10 inches?

    decaying sugar maple removal

I'm looking at removing a sugar maple that is about 22 inches in diameter and about 65 feet tall and has a lean at about 75 degrees. It has a very small canopy as it was a forest grown tree before a subdivision was put in 25 years ago. There is some dead limbs at the top but does not look that...

I have a stihl MS200t, 025, MS440 and an older jonsered 910. I would like to get a back up saw, I here a lot about the 372 and was wondering if some of you out there have used both the 440 and the 372. I have many more stihl dealers in my area than Husky but by no means have a bias for stihl...
