Need some guidance

I am preparing to modify my 036 Pro by installing a 24" bar with a .325 .063 full chisel chain (non-skip). Am I making any kind of mistake here?

.325 should be easier for it to pull than 3/8

You want the 24" for ease of use limbing or for balance or because you intend to bury the bar in hardwood? If the latter, I'd think that would be about the limit for that size saw.

Thanks for the replies. I will move forward with this mod. First order of business...get the new .325 sprocket nose installed on the bar. Next, calculate the link count for a .325 chain and order one. Next, buy a .325 rim sprocket. Next, buy some Ford light grey tractor paint to paint the bar, and then go out and cut up that BIG tree for firewood!!!
