I had to repaint this one completely (and I do hate paint jobs), as the previous owner repainted it some red color. The original paint was a rather low gloss orange, so that's why I redid in orange.

I had to repair the clutch and the helper hande chain tensioning device.

The saw is very heavy.

Your true colours shine through

Boy did you slip up.

Painting it orange says you are proud to be a friend of the Dutch.

Not very apolitic for a Belgian, is it?

What did you pay and when was it made?

Wow! I'd like to run that. Just for a little while.

LOL, spot on !!!!

It took me a while to get her running again. She would fire and throw flames (literally !) for a few seconds an die. After checking out the carb, she would finally run and the roar it produces is insane. My Brother in law happened to be present in my garage when it came to life, and he left the room in a hurry...LOLOLOL.

At idle, this baby is very loud, but once you rev her up, it's kinda getting better. But I could not hold her still on the floor, as she bounced away quite easily. No way I am going to attempt a cut with this one...:monkey:

Politics in Belgium have ruined this great little country...

but to answer your question : belgians would rather die before becoming a dutch, I guess... (Hey Polexie, it's all in good fun .....!)

Arrrrrrgh, those ami's ..... the southern part of our country speaks french, but they are no frenchmen... same goes for the nothern part, they speak dutch but we are no dutchmen !

They were dutch until 1830! Then we got rid of them;)

Roland, beatiful saw again, looks like antiques everywhere!

About the beer, ik zit te genieten van een Westmalle Triple!!!!! Proost!

Well, what a great way to make your 100 th post !!!

Enjoy your westmalle ! I offered a 75cc bottle of that beer to a dutch friend as a Christmas gift, he lives in Beek, near Geleen.

PS. You won't find such a saw in Belgium. I drove about 800 km in total to get this saw during summer in france !

Hey Roland how about a close up on that chain Please

The chain is a heavy type scratcher chain, simular to the one on the Dolmar CL. It has much heavier drive links than the stihl two man saws of that era.
I do not have a detailed pic of it, but you can get a view of it on the helper handle.

The chain, although not much used, was quite rusted and I had to free it up link by link...took me half a day. That's why I ran it quite loose on the saw during the test run, just to avoid heavy shocks on the clutch and chain.

It dates late fourties, early fifties, but I am not sure really.

the muffler is not original of course, but probably a redneck replacement for the original one.

You have Rednecks over there too:jawdrop: whooda thunk it!

damn.. must be a mess in the "middle part". I bet they munch tulips instead of garlic:greenchainsaw:

Hmmm... The entire county is the size of a postage stamp. How can you have a middle?

Now watch it Mr Lakeside....grrrr. I happen to live at the language border of the two regions and master both of the languages. We do not munch vegetables of any kind besides 'hop', a gift from the Allmighthy to produce the finest beers in the world...:check:

Belgium may not be big, but it is great because it has this:

party pooper:chainsaw:

Ah heck, I can stihl run with it...

Yep.. it covers 44% of the country and is used to keep the Dutch and French "territories" apart.
