Dump the flippy caps and I'd be happy.

I hates me some flippy caps!!:chainsaw:

And a free hat.
Kinda like John deere, but NOT.
The hats have to be made in USA like the saws.
Deere can't do either.

OHH!!! and free peanuts at the dealer, like at a decent bar.
Just in case some poor guy comes in with a busted wildthingy while there...:D

Stay safe!

Improve the air filtering system, the huskys make the stihl system look demented.

Improve the cap system, shouldnt require a brush or careful use of a twig to stop crap dropping in the oil when you remove the cap.

When you make saws 80cc's up, they can be tough on the hands trying to start them. the way the T type starters are set up, they are great for straining your hands when trying to get the 88 started with oily, sweaty hands. How about offering a hotsaw type D handle for better grip and less strain????

how about a holder for a scrench? one thats going to stick around not like the add on ones you can currently buy.

How about a scrench with a tuning driver and star head as well as the flat head they usually have.

stop screwing people outside the US for saw parts and saw purchase just because you can.

Husky prices are outrageous too, since the recent Husky price increase my local Husky dealer now sells more Echo saws that Husky. (also warranty work has dropped).

With the economy in the tank here, I can see a future in Saw Smuggling bieng mighty tempting to some.

Just need a med. sized freighter, and a front man for capitol.:D

No wonder the Chineese saws are washing ashore down there...

Wish ya luck with that.

Yes I wish there was craigslist here, we sure pay top dollar here, a "Baileys" over here would also be good, I've been waiting five weeks for a sprocket from my local mower shop:confused:

World series of saws!!!

They should come out with some factory hot rods. Sadly this will never happen do to the EPA and what have you.

Somebody rep this man! This is seriously an excellent idea, Best I've heard in a long time. Maybe there's a loop hole somewhere where they can all (Stihl, Husky, Dolmar, whoever) sell a few saws as a limited addition collector saws, not intended for "highway use". If they had a sort of manufacturers world series of saw competition. Let their engineers shine a little. See what kind of port jobs and muffler mods they could do with seemingly inexhaustable resources. They'd have to build the saws from all stock parts that they could modify. (to keep someone for creating a NOS fed supercharged $100 000 SAW.) In this slumping economy, it could help them out. Kinda like the win on Sunday, sell on Monday the big 3 did in the '60's with muscle cars.

As far as Australia goes I agree with the other Aussies here. Stihl dealers in Australia are ABSOLUTE RIP OFFS. Like the recent ad campaign where you buy a smaller model saw and get a free Stihl case - providing the Stihl dealer feels the need to participate in this promo - which all the ones I've heard of won't!

You want a case, you buy it.

The fact I went to a Stihl dealer a few years back to get some clearly marked Carlton N1 chains lengthened and was told that it would cost AUD$15 per chain for 2 drive links and that because it was cheap Chinese made chain it wasn't worth it - maybe I can sell you some decent chains? (yeah, I'll have to sell my house to buy one).
The fact that an 880 is $2600 when the equivalent 3120XP is $2200 with free spares thrown in. Guys where I live drive 60 0dd miles straight past the two local Stihl dealers to get to the local Husky dealer.
The fact local Stihl dealers charge up to 90c per drive link for Stihl chain and Stihl owners are gullible enough to pay it, thinking that only Stihl chain fits their Stihl saw - I firmly believe that some dealers even TELL customers this.
The concerning fact that I can go into most Aussie Stihl dealers and sadly know more about their saws than they do, even though I don't own a Stihl.
Air filtration on their 880's - absolute garbage in dry Aussie hardwood.
The fact Stihl dealers ARGUE with customers when they complain about poor filtration on their 880's.
But I digress ;)
My main complaint with Stihl is their dealers :censored:, NOT their products.

See... my main reason Stihl has served me well over all these years is because of the great dealer network in the PNW...

Oh I'm sure there are a few rotten apples in the bushel... but... I have yet to experience anything like what most claim here about the dealers they have.

Gary

I think they need to work on the filtering system and the antivibe on some of the saws could use some work. But overall stihl is pretty awesome there pricing is the biggest problem I have I would have more stihl chainsaws if they didnt cost so much.

Yeah I agree Gary. My experence is limited to 4 Stihl dealers with surprisingly similar mentalities of their staff/owners.
The local Husky guy owes a lot of his success to these guys.
Don't get me wrong - I've liked all the Stihl saws I've used, I just can't justify the price here (compared to Husky/Dolmar), their spare parts, or the cost of compulsory servicing (unless you want to void your warranty).
The 4 dealers in question cover all the Stihl dealers for a 160 mile radius.
We also have a peanut of a Husky dealer too so everyone just deals with the other Husky dealer.
