I think you did the right thing, hell what's a ported 660 cost, or an 880?? The value on that thing will only go up anyway.:yourock:

One of the things that makes life worth living is seeing your dreams realized.

I know that you have been searching for the "right" 090 as long as I have known you and now you have it.
I agree with Andre that the value of THAT 090 will only appreciate from here, and I also agree with my buddy stipes that the pride and pleasure of ownership will soon overshadow the price that you paid for it.
You work every day and have provided your family with a VERY good lifestyle. There is no reason that you shouldn't enjoy the fruits of your labors.
Even if you had paid the full "buy it now" price (and I know you didn't) you would have gotten a bargain.

When it comes right down to it, a body can't buy a decent lawnmower for what you paid for a beautiful slice of history and the fulfillment of a dream!!!

That's a BARGAIN!!!

:agree2::agree2::agree2:

Absoulutly, I paid 1800 for my 880 and rationlized it the same way. I always wanted one and I wont part with it now that I have it. I would have gladly paid 1500-2000 for that 090 a year ago when I was dreaming of a big saw. I think you did the right thing, if you hadnt bought it there would have always been that what if question hanging over you every time you looked at an 090 in lesser shape with the intent to buy. I've done that on a few items and it isnt any fun setteling for less because of hesetation when it was time to make a deal on something better. :yourock:

Smart money looks forward, not backward. Going by 2 years ago is like trying to buy a lottery ticket for last weeks drawing. ;)

Oh my. And to think I was called "The biggest a$$ on AS". Space, you just ousted me. See ya at the GTG, LOL.

Congrats Brad, money means little when its a collector's item. Especially when you can sell it later for a profit if you decide.

Looks like my old saw I sold it a couple of years ago for $1200, except mine was slightly cleaner, but that's what they go for:deadhorse:

Nice saw, Brad,

Before you know it that thing will be teaching your other saws new tricks.:biggrinbounce2:

Mr. HE:cool:

I'm waiting for a it to be ''snellerized''!!!! We need some before and after vid's of it. Great find.

I think that might be kind of sacreligous, don't you think? I sure wouldn't want to hurt it. Of course that didn't stop me on my 084 that cost me more to build from NOS parts.

BTW, thanks for all the kind words. I'm gathering my funds together and hope to take delivery very soon.

It makes no difference how much you pay for a saw. As long as the buyer and seller are happy that is what is important.

The great thing about this transaction is that the seller is a great guy and a great member here on AS.

Bill

I'll have to agree with that statement  and one day clean my desk what a mess

Very nice 090 Brad, I look forward to the video with the 6' bar, I'm not sure what spacemule is on about, next he will say a Solo Twin is worthless :monkey:

Heres another photo

090 values have crested and are on their way down. They'll soon be (already are) unwanted relics from the past. As the older generation dies off, no one is going to care about those saws.

That a boy space,,,,,,,, You really know how to liven up the party Who :censored: ed in your cheerios,,,,,

Oh I meant Fruit loops????? LOLOLOL!!!!!

Anyone want to buy an almost new 357XP? Me needs just a little more dough to finish the financing of this here beast without dipping into non-chainsaw funds. I know you want to see me and Nik, FATGUY do a road trip and pic this thing up. I'll even drop it in some wood and make a video for you!

It might be easier to sell if you would let folks know what you want for it.

I really wanted to run that saw last Saturday but I got so busy wrenching on my junk I didn't have time.

I'll pass on the 357 but I'll take the 090 if you come up short on cash

You're welcome to run any of my saws any time you want. Of course, you already knew that:)

This is the 357 that the fellow dropped a tree on in its first tank of fuel, brand new. I've replaced the case, loop handle, and clutch cover. It's a brand new saw for all intents and purposes, 2008 model. It is completely stock with no mods at all. It runs perfectly as you can see in the 50cc shootout video. I would like $550 for it shipped.

What would you guys give for a mint 090 like this, assuming it's a saw you'd love to have? This is the configuration I prefer. I'd rather have one like this than the new AV model. Why? It's older and therefore cooler IMHO. I only want one for the collection and GTG demoing.
