I noticed the round mount as well. My 3.7 is an '85, that has the hex mount. This saw has '79 stamped on it, might be the year? thought these came out around '80

Joe, is yours old enough to have an adjustable oiler? If so you'll find it on the bottom of the saw, under the oil pump. I've only seen one, which I found on Ebay by luck. Sending you a PM

Red, gonna look now, didnt notice before. It does have a rubber plug on the carb cover, thought it was a decomp valve, no idea what its for.

Well John we better not let Saw Troll see this, a 361 with a inboard clutch! He will be wanting to import it!

I hear ya about filling the oil tank, its a pain, just like a XL12 or a Sears/Roper 3.7. I actually thought that the oiler tank took quite abit to fill it up last night, maybe your just have a fast heavy thumb?

I tried to pick up the Dayton version of the 400 or 401 whatever awhile ago, and I think it was a auto oiler!

I do have a heavy thumb that's for sure!

A auto oiler on a 401 would be pretty rare. Are'nt they older than the 361? I can't remember.

OK guys....my old 3400 has come back home. Not because I wanted it too, but because the guy I sold it too has a hard time starting it. I stopped by there this morning, pulled the choke, and probably had to pull 10 times before the pop. ??? Long story short, I had a really nice Echo 500VL, and swapped him out. So good or bad, it' s back for now......

Wiggs, I 've got a couple Poulans with the same affliction. Others pop after 3-4 pulls. If I could figure out why the differance, I'd be a happy man! Wonder if its a compression issue?

The last time I checked this one it was at 145. I was impressed. It didn't feel like 145 on the rope end, but that was with 2 out of the box tester's. So....looks like ill tear this one down. BTW Anybody have a spare gas tank? My gas cap was lost, and it has some jacked up cap in it now. It seals, but I cant hardly get it out, and my new correct cap wont seal. If anybody has one shoot me a PM.

It's not a bad runner. Right now it's wearing a full wrap, stock single dog, 32" B&C. I need to get pictures of my Pro 455 and my XXV. I'm slowly trying to stock up on the Pro series.

Getting frustrated !!!

Put together one of my 3700's and needed to replace the flywheel side crank seal do to it leaking. After two new seals its still leaks! Running out of seals and they are getting harder to find. I'm getting a little po'd about ruining brand new seals. Even took the drasitic step of coating the seal with Dirko Ht. Still no luck. Anyone have any ideas? Has anyone else run into this problem?

Is the case of the saw where seals fit true? Meaning is it worn or gouged/
