I would think the 445 would be a great saw for the occasional user. I run a J-Red 2150 pretty close to the same saw only 5 cc bigger. Its never missed a beat and is pretty much my go to saw. The Husky 350/450 are dead on reliable.
My problem with 54 to 59 cc saws is they don't run all that much better than a 50cc saw, but they are almost just as heavy as a 65cc saw and only a little bit cheaper.
If you are looking for bargains, go for a better grade 40cc saw. Keep the chain sharp and tuned well, and for an occasional user, I would think you'll be real happy. I have a 40cc Ryobi and have buried the 18 inch bar just to see how it would handle it. I will say it won't win a race, but It wasn't bogging. I just bought another one only in the Sears Craftsman pro yellow. Its the same saw only with the Intenz bar. They are selling fot $115 to your door with a 1 year Sears remanufactured warraunty. I would like to try one of the 40cc Echo's too. I see them selling for good prices on E-bay
