No real Dolly dealers around here, so I never got into them. I once started conversations about becoming a Dolmar dealer with the western distributor in southern Oregon, if/when I bought a Stihl/Husky saw shop there. Fortunately for me, I was talked out of it by Lakeside Andy and several other Dolmar dealers in the western US.

Lots of good saws on this list. They all have their plusses and minuses. Ported right, they all become mean machines. Here are the vibes for the 460, 440, 461 and 441 as posted by Stihl in the UK. Big difference in the buzz factor, left/right (front and rear handle) vibration in m/s*s (meters per second squared).

460: 4.2/6.0
440: 4.2/4.5
461: 4.0/3.8
441: 3.1/3.3

Note the big difference in the 460 left and right. Running a higher vibe saw definitely wipes me out a lot more and faster than a less vibration prone saw. I may swap my 441 for a 461 though. Same weight, more power, & better AV than a 440.

Wow Dolmar has come from behind and is steadily getting further and further away from the others in the poll! Keep em coming.

sidenote: I hate snow. I really really hate it.:dumb2:
I've used them for years...
No surprise at all..
7910 is at the top of the heap right now as far as stock offerings out there today...

That's my silly opinion..

For comparison, here are the Husky vibe numbers (front/rear handle, meters per second squared):

576xp: 2.9/3.6
372xp-xt: 4.0/5.4

Note that the 372 ain't so smooth... the 576 is, and is the same as a 361. No wonder I liked the 576 the best of my Husky saws.

I'd bet the old school 372xp vibes are less than the XT's..
Just a theory.
And what about the vibe #'s on the 7900?

Scott, nice info, but I thought the 461 had the same AV as a 460. Is the engine smoother??? So if I keep my hand on the left side of the handle, I feel less vibes than someone who keeps their hand on the rt????

I found an old site with the old 372xp numbers and you are correct. Highly amusing, and far smoother:

372xp 71cc, 3.5/4.0 m/s²

Now I have to find the numbers on my 372xpw 75cc saw. I sold the manual I had for it with my Husky saws.

I do not collect/have any information on Dolmar. Sorry. Not my thing.

No, the numbers are actually from the left, or top handle (left hand grip) and right, rear handle (right hand grip). In the UK they list them as left and right. They never listed these numbers in the US that I have found.

It's that big, stupid piston flopping around in the XT...
The 7900 is exceedingly smooth, and in stock form will stomp a mud hole in the others in it's class.
Just not one of the "big 2" I guess..
