What's the difference between a 562 and a 560? ..... uuummm ...one has 2 (two) one the end the other a (zero ) ? 562 /560 ..... ...I don't know much about them ...yes you do you port them ??? Operator error causes the bog? yes it can (as you know there is a proper programming programming procedure/break in ) adjusting to altitude.... but then I am of course just... pointing out the obvious ....as you all ready know.... ( do we like to cause problems?) life's to short for that ......
What in the Holy hell are you talking about?

If I follow what you are saying correctly they changed the number from 562 to 560 and the problems were solved?

I should have scratched out the 2 and wrote a zero on the one I had.

I do know quite a bit about a 562 but the 2260 was the first one of those I had apart,if I'm still following what's being said, a 562 and a 2260 are different because the 2260 is actually a 560 and a 560 is a 562 that someone just changed the 2 into a zero, that sounds about right?

I must not be following correctly, how are they different again?

I think you have it..... now I am not a saw professional like yourself a guy good with mechanics , degrees and angles , port timing , compression , ect. however for a short time from 1983 to 2015 I just worked as an ase certified technician for gm, bmw, Toyota ,and ford in three different states in the good ol usofa .... now all they let me do ......is hang license plate brackets for near 30 years.... I was lucky enough for them to keep me on at 60k-90k a year salary however in the last few years I was aging and having problems ... hanging the brackets lopsided and upside down and stripping out all the bolt holes..... so they let me go :(.. with that being said I will let the saw professionals (like yourself) have the postings on this thread have a nice night .....life is ..to short...and yes its all been sarcasm

I bought a new 562 a couple years ago, a few months later they put a new carb on it under warranty, it ran pretty good before the new carb but wow it runs even better now ! If something happened to it I'd most likely buy another 562.

I set a logger up with an early 562 and it lasted about 3 years with a 24 inch bar. No major problems that was the fault of the saw. Now my 2260 needed the hesitation of idle problem fixed and that got done under warranty.
I wish my 2260 turned over easier, too much compression. I broke the starter once. Tlandrum covered that too.
FWIW, oil pump and drive is different between a 2260 and 562.

I love how a 562 runs but a 6100 dolmar will run with it or ahead and is a much easier to work on and more simple design.

A problem free 562 would certainly be the best 60cc out there.

Are you pushing the de-compressor?

My back is pretty messed up and I have no problem starting my 2260, the de-compressor makes it pretty easy... although I no longer can get my 268xp started....at least not without my back taking a beating.

That's why I bought the 2260, to replace the 268xp...

The saw is not stock. I don't get an accurate compression reading with that 10mm spark plug adapter. It just has a lot of compression.

372 kit is $30 less than the XPW kit. And for whatever reason the 371 kit is the same price as the XPW. Same jug as the 372, but just has a single ring piston.
by jonsered pricing they are all the same price except the 371.

list price
371 503939372 $152.24
372 503626473 $202.99
372 x-torq 575255702 $201.55
372xpw 544254302 $202.99

just pulled the trigger on a 2260 on baileys $40 dollars off free shipping, total out the door $659. As suggested here, it runs same bar and chain as my 2255 so If I do sell my 2255 I don't need a new sharpener set up, can keep all my spare chains and sell it PHO and have a back up bar. I am happy and it matches my 2255 if I keep it ;)

I am a logger. Bought a 562 in 2013 that has been problem free. Run either 16 or 18 inch bar on it cutting 20-30" spruce. I bought a 2260 about a 18 months ago and it is still my main saw. The 562 is now my backup. My 372 only gets used blocking firewood. My 550's have been relegated to ornaments now that I don't do much line work.
The thing they all have in common, despite being abused only 1 has been to a shop to be fixed. The 2260 needed a spring replaced in the carb.

I almost went with a 550 xpg, every winter I dream of a heated handle saw. But just as I was ready to check out I remembered the whole point of a new saw was something with some more power.

We limb trees that are off the ground some and usually only cut a few limbs off then top it.

Most of them are held off the ground by the limbs and cutting a big limb off a white oak or hickory takes a lot of saw if you want to do it in a hurry.
That's another big difference I was taught to balance on a log with a saw we walk down the tree well bumping and bucking.
