I just built a play saw out of a 365 and it's not to bad but I sold the 365 cylinder and ported a 372 cylinder and it certainly makes me wonder how they ever sold a 365.
Same with a 6400 dolmar,why?
umm.... a 372xpw cylinder$195 on a p.o.s. 365 and you have a perfect saw same with the 6400 install a 7900 top end $200 i will take all the p.o.s. 365 and 6400 saws i can get

372 END OF STORY. 5 years down the road when the 562 is still not figured out the 372 will still be running the same.
IF that was true, it would only be because the 562 has a billion tanks of fuel through it and the 372 is still sitting in the corner new, because everyone wants to run the 562!

My helper will RUN for my 2260, and trip over -----------> HIS 372 to get to it! AND I don't blame him! lol

Every helper I get runs for the "Johnny"! (2260)

I think most people would be suprised how well the closed port 365 top end runs. Many get thrown out for the cheap big bore kits that actually run worse.

I would imagine the new gen 562s have had the autotune stuff ironed out. I believe I have seen similar thoughts posted by folks on here. However, if you are not wanting to replace your 455 then looking at a 372 (or something of a different flavor in the 70cc range) would cover more ground with your saw plan. I agree with the above comment on the rancher series of huskys being quality products. My uncle has a 450 rancher with what seems like a billion tanks through it. Thing has been beat up and still runs well.

So they completely redesigned the 562?:) IMHO that's the only way to fix them. :drinkingcoffee: The AutoTune was never the real problem.

195$ really not a lot of money though. I bought a 395 top end kit for 140$ shipped. Almost not worth it buying used unless real cheap and aftermarket kits cost so close to oem.
no its not and then you have a 75cc runner same with the dolamr 6400 $200 for a oem 7900 top end and you have a 80 plus cc saw that weighs in at 14 lbs ...winner winner chicken dinner ;)

Not many people are going to buy a new saw so they can make it into the saw they actually want.
..... I do
the cylinders kits are available for 195$ to 225$ from both @fordf150 and @spike60 and other seller's as well ..and p.o.s. is just an expression for unwanted saw... and so do I... have both saws and you can pick up (used) cylinders for much less than $195 upload_2017-6-13_17-38-56.png

To say you are in the minority in that you buy a saw with the intention to tear it apart to make it what you want is an understatement.

i agree it may not be the norm ...however the minority is larger than just a couple ( like myself ) and... new.... maybe after a few months or even a year .... ..do people buy new saws and sent them for porting ,,muffler mods ect. ? .......everyday .......... but yes most do not do it themselves i agree

If you take the forum away and just go with the guy who runs his saw every day there won't be a single one of them that would buy a saw that needed something done to it to make it what they want, they just buy the 372 or 7910 and go to work.

What's the price difference between a 6400 and 7910?

Used to be $250-300 but has recently became much closer.,. Maybe $150-175

I am torn between the 372 and 562.... Don't think I can go wrong with either.... Would either share bar or chain with.my 2255/455? Just curious.

There both big mount but I don't know what a 2255 is but I bet it's a small mount.

If I was spending 8-900$ on a new saw I'd buy a 7910 or a 461 but that's me.

2255/455 is small mount

562/372 is large mount

If your looking at the 562 and want to share bars with the 2255/455 look at a jred2260

thanks everyone I am all over the map but having fun checking the trading post every break and chance I get to see what pops up. thanks for all the information so far. This weekend I am gonna go fondle some orange saws at a shop near by. See what I see they had a decent Axe display when I stopped for a chain last summer so never know what might follow me home.
