395 muffler

I am finally getting around to opening up the muffler on my 395xp. Just wondering if there is a preffered place or method to make an extra hole on the 395's muffler. Also I am still trying to find out how much of a difference a simple muffler mod wakes up the 395. Any 395 info would be great!!!!!!!!

Brian, a believe that the formula for muffler mods is to shoot for 1.5 times the exhaust port area. FYI

My 395

Thanks for the info about the muffler mods. I think I will put a hole in the support bracket like I did on my 365, that worked wonders! Does anyone think that putting a hole in the muffler near the bottom would be more efficient than say porting the top of the muffler, or vise versa?" top better or bottom better or doesn't matter" and yes I am talking chainsaws!!!!!!
