I got some youtube video done today. One is of the "like new" homelite 750 that was on ebay a few weeks ago. It was supposed to run like new but didn't. Well anyway after cleaning paint (yes it was a re-paint) out of the carb and off the plastic parts, rebuilding the carb and replacing the torn intake boot it runs pretty good now. I also replaced the hard tip bar with a 36" sprocket tip homelite bar. This video is titled "Hoss's pretty 750".

The other video is of a saw I have wanted for a very long time, a homelite 7-29. This is a 129cc belt reduction drive saw and it is huge. Anyway it runs great and is the nicest example I have personally seen. It is running a 24" hard tip with 1/2 pitch chipper. I love this saw! This saw would be a good comparison with my mac 73. This video is titled "Hoss's 7-29".

I hope you guys like em. I was pretty impressed at how fast the 750 was with chipper chain. The wood was about 24"-26" and very cured.

That 7-29 has the most obnoxious sound of any saw I've heard. Reminds me of a high pressure, clinched cheek fart the day after eating too much Mexican. ;)

Really nice old saws. That 750 is a BEAST! I loved the rooster-tail.

Does the 7-29 have a reed valve? Both saws sound good.

Nope it is a rotary valve just like the Mac 73 which would have been Mac's comparable saw from the same era (except with 9cc's less;)). Mike Acres site says that this thing was supplied with guide bars as long as 72" and those would have been hard noses! The sound was the first thing that my brother commented on too.

Love that upper cut with the 750 :bowdown:

takes a few bowls of oatmeal in the morning to pull that off

Great vids, nice to see the old muscle back in the wood
