I don't own either of these types of saws but I was curious as to how the plugs look on these saws since they are supposed to be running on the verge of too lean. Pics would be great if anybody has some.
 
light tan is the color of the plug just before it goes white as far as i've seen. the plug in old guys hand looks fine to me. in fact, it looks like he even has the 2 tones in his electrode ground which is typical of a plug from a perfectly tuned saw. you said this was AT? hmmmmmm so you think AT might actually do what it's supposed to do? lol
 
I think alot of guys including myself have always been told bron, chocolate brown, light brown or some variation of brown as the color to strive for, a bit rich it seems but more room for pushing the saw hard without adjusting the tune like an AT saw does every second ot whatever it is.
