I was wondering about a stencil as well.
I traced the logo I use off the 2009 Stihl product catalog I got at my dealer. It was the perfect size for bars. I use a sheet of clear stiff plastic that I got in the craft section at Walmart. I traced out the logo with a fine tip Sharpie and got my Exacto razor blade knife out and went to work cutting out the letters. After you get this done you can use it, or get some thin cardboard and make several off the first stencil. You can also use the clear plastic material that is molded around the product inside that about 90% of the stuff you buy is packaged in now days

I just use the Stihl Grey from the dealer. Prep is everything - use lots of paint thinner or other "clean" solvent, prime, sand, wipe, paint, sand, paint etc. - I like to hang mine over my woodburner and "bake" for a day or so, too.

Make sure to de-booger your oil holes when you're done.
