Craftsman 55cc muffler mod

Well since the saw was given to me with one use, I figured that motor sounded well stuffed up so I tried to mod the muffler, let me know what think and any other suggestions. The saw runs better, sounds better but has a rev limiter.

I did not increase the hole any larger just moved the internal pipe outside and welded it.

This is all the crap inside there, I still have to make a spark arrester.

Looks real nice. Good welds. Make sure you richen the carb up some especially on the high side. In the third pic looks like there is something in the exhaust port? What is there a screen or something in there?

good news is i may have a spark arrestor for that saw i need the model # off the saw to confirm it

I actually have the spark arrester it's in pic 2, just need to mod it and fit it on. Pic 3 is a bit blurry but there nothing there, just the piston poking through.

Is there any way to override the Rev limiter or is that not a good idea??? I'm really not used to the newer saws. This thing dosn't sound like a chainsaw, it sounds like a weedwacker.lol

Yup, this will do it AND modify the muffler, all at once.
