Good evening to everyone. I hope everyone is well.

I am finalizing my saw plan. I am looking for a 100cc saw.

So far I have:

Stihl 192tc for very light work and light trimming/one Handed use.

Stihl 009L for light work

Dolmar 5105 for in between work

Stihl 028 wood boss for in between work/dirty work (stumps roots etc)

Stihl ms441cm for bigger work

I am looking for a 100cc saw for the biggest jobs...

I like Stihl husky and dolmar

Stihl is preferred though but not opposed to the other two

What models can I look at used

I'm on a budget but can spend a little

Thanks

I would be looking for a 660 also. I love mine. Throw a dual port cover on it and it'll be alot of fun to run. They'll pull a 36" bar pretty easily.

The other choices would be the Husky 395 or the Dolmar 9010. I like the 660 better than both of them though. I feel the power of the 660 is right with the 395 and the handling definetly goes to the 660 IMO.

Hmmm, 100 cc? Don't apologize your way toward 100. Exceed it. Stihl 084/088/880, Husky 3120XP, Dolmar 166. Good luck finding any of them affordably used. I've been trying for 2 years. But sometimes these things just fall into you lap willy nilly.

My ported 660 easily handles 36 inches or a bit better. I want 7 cubes or more to handle 6 feet. And/or milling.

Agreed. I've been trying for about that long as well to acquire an 084/088. A nice mint condition one slipped by last fall for $800 :msp_mad:

If you don't mind going older for the bigger cubes, the Stihl 075/076 saws are real workhorses. They're heavy, but parts are plentiful as they still utilized the powerhead in their cement saw line through the early 2000s. Good condition saws are starting to fetch as much as 084/088s...but runners can be had sometimes for half the price.

well i might as well throw it out there how bout a Mcculloch sp125 i love my 740 mac:hmm3grin2orange:

3120s pop up from time to time usually cheaper than the stihl 084/088s. Good saw with the best oiler i've seen on a modern saw.

The prices vary alot. A good 076 or 075 may only run you 400 bucks or so. It won't be too pretty though. The 088 or 084 may cost 7-800 bucks for an ugly one. The 088/084 would be a better saw to handle but the 075/076 would more than likely be cheaper. They all have good power.

If you wanna go all out, get an 090 or a Mac 125 with a Kart engine.

In my experience the 075 was lackluster powerwise, best with a bar length of 36". In other words, too heavy for the amount of power produced. Probably the best bang for the bucks is the McCulloch 790/95 series, for about $300 bucks, including a B&C, you can tear the hell outta anything.
