Firewood- favorite saw

I have a 046 stihl, and an 017.
Somehow, for firewood, I'd like a saw with less weight than the 046, and more power than the 017.
I'm not brand fanatic, (except anti poulan!) We have a local stihl dealer. But there's a husky dealer too now.

Anyway, I bought the 017 for my atv, (it lives there) to make occasional trails, or cut logs off the road. It's real handy. But, for trees bigger than 3-4", more power seems good. So what's your favorite "sweet spot" saw?
I'm thinking a 260, or 360.

Not the answer your looking for but my go to firewood saw is a Stihl 461.

The saw size seems to be dictated by the limb, or log size most often cut.
Most cuts are 10 to 12" dia.or smaller. The 046 seems great for cuts 8" and bigger.
I like the 017 for cleaning up the tops.

I have used a stock 036 and stock 361, stock 026, 260 and 261. Also, a ported 036 and 261. The ported 261 and 036 are the ones I still have.

If you're gonna keep it stock, I'd go with a 60cc saw. Maybe 361/362 or 555/562. If you're gonna get it ported, the 50cc saws are worth a look. Also, if you're gonna use it in the woods, the lighter saws are much nicer. That ported 261 is definitely my go-to saw. So light, so angry, so smooth, and still user friendly. Easy to start and restart, great air filter, captive bar nuts, etc.

Go with an echo you will save a bunch of money on the initial price plus you can’t beat their saws in my opinion I use to own a stihl ms 290 and a 390 cut many cords of wood with them but since then I sold them and bought a new echo cs 620. And just recently bought a use cs400 for 70 bucks did a muffler mod and retuned and now I don’t wanna use anything but that little saw

CS-490 for the 50cc saw. And yes, CS-590 for the 60cc saw. Buy yourself some new PPE with the $$ you saved by not buying Stihl.

Well, I'm tall, so I run a 25" bar on 046.
But, I think it's a 14" on the little saw.
Most wood here, a 18 or 20 is fine.
I know a longer bar, wastes a lot the torque, but I like standing more upright.

If money is more important than name.....go with Echo's.
I have Stihl's , Husqvarna's , Johnsered's and Echo's and they all cut but no better than the more affordable Echo.

I'm not saying that Stihls are bad saws. Just noting that you can get almost the same performance for a fraction of the cost of a Stihl.

Ms250 16" and husky 450 18" are what I use. I have a husky 455 but I don't really use it much it's 3lbs heavier than the 450 but not really any more power. Sometimes it would be nicen to have
something bigger.

Tried a bunch of saws over the years, but always come back to the 346xp as a fav. I'm really liking a 550xp I recently got in a trade though. A strong pro 50cc with 18" bar will cut more wood than most people need.

My go to saw is my 357xp, 20"bar . I also like my old Husky 51/55 with muffler mod, 16" bar. Would like to get my hands on a 346xp

I have a 460 with a 20" bar, and a 660 with a 25" bar and a smaller drive sprocket.

I bought the wife a 250, but that saw sucks! Just got her a 362. Couldn't be happier!! And as a bonus, I have a bucking helper.

I think if I get another saw it'll be a 441 for me.
