Not many folks run 681 Solo's, they're out of the game these days but those who own them know which saw wins the P:W ratio debate...

Just looked it up http://www.baileysonline.com/shop.axd/ProductDetails?edp_no=37338
Pretty impressive specs

Manufacturer claims:
Solo 681: 6.7kg dry PHO, 4.8kw = 0.72kw/kg
Dolmar 7910: 6.7kg dry PHO, 4.3kw = 0.64kw/kg
Stihl 661: 7.5kg dry PHO, 5.4kw = 0.72kw/kg

I've been working on a comparison table for this type of stuff - not finished, but I have attached what i have so far. Red numbers are estimates/unofficial.

What becomes more interesting is when you start comparing classes of equipment for instance pro 70-80cc backpack blowers, clearing saws in 40/50cc classes, 30cc trimmers etc. You start to notice a trend with Solo that the major 2 simply don't match.

Here's my xls that has loads of saw data. It's actual results from a lab vice manufacture numbers. Metric units are hidden if you swing that way.

Here's an example.

40cc? I own a 543xp, dolmar 421, and stihl 241. The 543 probably has this won even though I would much rather and do use the dolmar or stihl much much more. And the dolmar is actually lighter than the stihl... power wise the stihl edges out the dolmar but not in weight

The early 064's weighed 14.6 lbs and the Poulan 505 weighed 14.9 lbs. With a 32" or longer bar I would take those above a 7900. They can oil a 36" very well compared to the Dolmar.

what about the echo 501p its around 10 pounds 6 oz? dry weight i believe in the 50 cc class... not sure if ya all are going by dry weight or fueled and oiled.....
