Any other to consider? If you have one let me know what you like/dislike in the tree pictured.
That is why I worded it a more expensive type. A replaceable nose power match type bar is available for the small mount husky k095I believe the 555 takes a small mount bar, and the 562 uses a large mount... Could be wrong though.
I've always been a 65-70cc firewood saw guy... husky 365 and 372's... since 1998...
now that i have the 550xp, with just a simple muffler mod, it gets used A LOT more than I ever thought it would. I used to fell the trees with the 365/372 and then use a 5100 dolamr to limb it and buck up the smaller stuff up top. The 550xp has changed my opinion of 50cc class saws. took it to dads last week after work and dropped a 14" black walnut, 16" ash and 17" cherry with the "flimsy, peaky, pos 550xp". It might be my favorite saw and that says a lot after I've owned just about every saw out there. I also have an ms261... its for sale. As josh said, Its priced like a 70cc saw, the size of a pregnant whale, power of a homeowner 40cc saw.
yup, the pos 550 took these down before dark, bucked them up all in less than and hour before dark. the only thing it didn't do was split and stack them in my truck. It has a 16" windsor 3/8 bar and stihl RS chain. This might have been the first time I ever took ONE saw to drop three trees. I love my 372., but this 550xp has gotten the most use the last two years as the firewood king around the ranch. I'd love to try a 555/562 that might be the perfect 20-24" firewood saw. As far this thing just making decibels, if you have a sharp chain, it is a light saber. If you want to cut with a dull chain and pry on the saw, get a big cc monster.
What was that, 2 tanks of fuel? Nice pics and great saw.
It's amazing how much work a 550 can do with a few drops of fuel.one tank of fuel. ran out right at dark and had just a couple small branches left to zip up.
261 w/ 18" B&C in .325" RS
...and AS thought I was a fool for having a 50 cc GTG.Leaning very heavy in that direction. Oh, and ported.
Ported 362c

Now thats a great idea!! Or go 241c, 362c, and 661c!!Talk to mastermind and get a 261cxb and a 441cxb, your firewood needs are now covered
The MonkeyMan makes those saws really run, I know this as fact
10 cube 090?He already has a huge cc saw for big wood and a 241 for limbing. What could be better than 40cc, 70cc, and 100cc?
