Well, I think I have the perfect firewood combination.
Husky 562 XP with 20" Sugi Hara, 3/8 lpx
Stihl mint 260 Pro with Tsumura 16" bar, 3/8 Stihl chain
For big jobs, a Ms 192 tc!!
Gonna get Randy to port the Husky when he can.

Since you're porting this saw then a 550xp will def put a smile on your face. It would be a weapon there after as it is standard. You really need to try both the 261 and a 550xp. I did and was a easy decision there after. A 261 is not what a 50cc should be. Gawd i sound like someone else on here....
If it's goin to be ported, the 545 is the one. Same engine, all orange & $100 less.

i got baby hands....... but no my hands ache because of my public job from lifting all the time.
I have heard that some glove manufacturers are now making vibration lessening gloves: I think Bra Snelling has some.
I think His look like he bought them from the Grinch after the Grinch went straight and started selling anti vibe gloves .

Same bar? I noticed at a dealer's display the 562 had a more expensive type of bar than the 555.
Replaceable tip vs a lighter laminated bar. The dealer can put any bar the customer wants on either saw.
The laminated bars hold up just fine, I've put hundreds of hours on a few of them...

That is what I noticed. 562/555 My question was should your $100 have a difference of bar adjustment factor. Or is the price difference $100 pho? 550/545

Then there is that whole reliability and built better thing.

Uh hmm We don't need to start that. :buttkick:

I don't care I only tell you what I see as true .

Didn't know you were an Echo guy? ;)

Seriously, the only minor shortcoming I see in the 590 is it doesn't spool up as quick as I'd like stock. A simple muff mod made all the difference I could ask for. Now I'm trying to decide which gets ported first. The 545 or the 590? Both have exceeded my expectations stock. Leaning toward the 545 first mostly because of the flyweight handling.

I've always been a 65-70cc firewood saw guy... husky 365 and 372's... since 1998...

now that i have the 550xp, with just a simple muffler mod, it gets used A LOT more than I ever thought it would. I used to fell the trees with the 365/372 and then use a 5100 dolamr to limb it and buck up the smaller stuff up top. The 550xp has changed my opinion of 50cc class saws. took it to dads last week after work and dropped a 14" black walnut, 16" ash and 17" cherry with the "flimsy, peaky, pos 550xp". It might be my favorite saw and that says a lot after I've owned just about every saw out there. I also have an ms261... its for sale. As josh said, Its priced like a 70cc saw, the size of a pregnant whale, power of a homeowner 40cc saw.

yup, the pos 550 took these down before dark, bucked them up all in less than and hour before dark. the only thing it didn't do was split and stack them in my truck. It has a 16" windsor 3/8 bar and stihl RS chain. This might have been the first time I ever took ONE saw to drop three trees. I love my 372., but this 550xp has gotten the most use the last two years as the firewood king around the ranch. I'd love to try a 555/562 that might be the perfect 20-24" firewood saw. As far this thing just making decibels, if you have a sharp chain, it is a light saber. If you want to cut with a dull chain and pry on the saw, get a big cc monster.
