New to me, Husqvarna 242, production year? And more questions

I got hold of two Husqvarna 242 G today.
serialnumber: 5410251 (has a cat)
serialnumber: 9480226
When where these two produced?
And, is there a difference from 242 to 242 XP?

1995 week 41 and 1989 week 48.

I am not sure if any changes was made exactly when the designation changed to xp, but it surely did with time.

The cat was optional, and has nothing to do with it.

A 1989 will not be an xp, while a 1995 will be a late production xp - provided parts haven't been swapped out..

I can understand why 242XP are ratet so high.
Regret I didn't get the 242 before now!!

I liked the building of the cat. Unlike the original muffler this one didn't have a waffle inside. When I first worked with it I open up the muff a bit also -
