Well its -3 degrees and they cancelled the wood cutting trip. Maybe tomorrow or Sunday. Last night the wind was ripping so I cancelled and they liked the idea.
We had a GTG one year in Ohio Jan 2010. Date was 2nd, it was 2 degrees when I woke and we were running saws in the high of 8 degrees.

Dont think there has been one in Ohio in Jan since.

I must say. I didnt care for the cold weather training when I lived in MT in the military.

But I did get some neat cold weather gear back then. My mummy bag saved my drunk azz one time at a Harley gtg when I was younger.

In upstate New York in the 80s my boy scout troop did a polar bear run for a week , it got down to -38° below zero or 38.8C . We had scooby do sleeping bags in nylon tents.

I know a bunch of y’all were good friends with 67mustang and he thought a lot of his poulan friends. I regret to inform you he passed away last Sunday :(
Thanks Possum, for letting us know about Steve (67mustang). Steve made the trip up here to our Poulan GTG;s several times. Not a nicer guy to be found, I can honestly say. Here is a pic of Steve at our first Poulan GTG, Sad news indeed.

:( Gregg,

Well I have saved another one, this was a straight gassed 8500 that I was able to get and use my new in the box cylinder piston kit that I found 4 years ago. Also had a new top handle that was found some years back. It's great to find a saw that you can finally use the parts that have been collected over the years. This one is a very nice saw and had a cylinder and piston that I think can be saved for a different saw.
I think I get more fun finding the parts than just getting a saw that needs minor repairs.
Video is to large to load so i will take pictures of it in the morning
So for now you are looking at a almost new outside and new inside poulan 8500. She runs and sounds great. It's 2am so good night.
