have a 076 for big wood and 361 for smaller stuff, but would like an in the middle saw. cut mostly for firewood, live on 500 acres of standing timber. I will be modding this saw(mildly for work and play). I was thinking 460??

The 076 has lots of torque but is a heavy old beast. The MS460 is a popular saw and lighter than it's bigger brothers.
Are you set on Stihl? The Dolmar 7900 is becoming very popular, fast and good power to weight.

if you want to try something besides a stihl try a dolmar 7900 or maybe the 7300.

460's are nice, but I think you need the big brother to your 028s, the 038 magnum. It gaps the age of the 076 and 361 nicely too. My second choice would be a 066 or 064. Lightweight saws that cut like nobody's business.

yep the 038 is tough...i had 3 of them...now they are gone

I run my damn 076 (for as short as period as possible)

and I would love an 066/660. maybe you can long term loan me one of yours ultra...

heard that...i had 2 660's but no more...there not that heavy to me...id say the 076 is a beast.

Saws I would like to have

If it helps any, here is my new saw "wish list"

Husky 346XP
Stihl MS361
Dolmar 5100
Solo 681
Dolmar 7900

Take your pick from any of them last four, one of them oughta git 'r' dun.
