Single middle finger port pointing straight up works best.

Tough time running the belt...That's where the 6-71 mod really shines
I put an extra long chain on the blade (Direct drive), and loop it over the drive pulley. Clutch is eliminated for weight savings.Tough time running the belt...

Here's what it looks like on a husqvarna:

No Clutch. Remember, we're trying to make this light and compact. Every bit of weight savings = less fatigue in the woods.
Would that mean it is now an outboard clutch?

re: Balance
I see you are not new to the high performance chainsaw game. You have a good eye for details that many would not immediately pic up on (including myself in this case).
I may have to add a large counterbalance weight to the other side of the saw. Maybe I can remove the air filter to save a bit more weight.
I'm sure you people will come up with some brown note, resonance frequency, gyroscopic effect that will levitate the saw in tandem with a violent, total evacuation, bowel movement.Yes the weight is a concern. Definitely a major concern here. I am in the shop looking at this, doing a mock-up... we're getting up over 150 pounds now. I think that is just about all you want to carry in the woods.
Maybe a lightweight bar?
Leave the 10-10 out of this and focus on Wild Thing or Earthquake. That 6-71 stuff is "old school". I'm working out the bugs on an intercooled twin turbo. Clearly the only saws that could handle all that is either a 10-10 or a Wild thang.
