Right match

Is an 8 pin rim the proper choice for a 20" bar running 3/8 Stihl RM chain on an Ms460?
I'll be using it mostly in 12"-24" oak.

Try it. You may like it or you may not. An 8 pin should work okay on a 20". I wouldn't use the 8 pin on any longer of a bar though.

Should be a good match. I run an 8 tooth 20" bar 3/8" stihl rs on my husky 181. It's a cutting machine and I can bury the bar w/o bogging the saw. You should have no problem running that combo on your saw. The nice thing about sprocket clutches is for $7 you can make a quick regear when running longer or shorter bars.
