Red Max is the descendent or offspring of Green Machine which made some of the best trimmers of the 1970's and 80's we still get about a half dozen of them in for repair a year. Most Red Max dealers atleast here carry a couple blower 4 or 5 trimmers and a maybe a saw and that's about it, and none of them really push the line. The dealers who carry them it's always as a secondary line to Echo usually. Great trimmers and the saws look decent, the Red Max guy down the street has a 62cc saw with a 20" GB bar for 429$ with about an inch of dust on it.

So the only way to get the Stihl to win was to test it against a machine with a 10cc smaller engine. Nice!

Redmax - 25.4cc
Stihl - 36.3cc

What a dufus!

not really a fair test. he's in a garden..never let them get to work rpm's...... would any of us be bogging a saw that bad ....dont think so.... put them in a10x10 of tall grass,,,,,, get them to work rpm's and see how they do in a real world test. there are alot of variables in a brand's performance and weight that also need's to be considered to have a fair test

not knocking any brand but i want a light & powerful trimmer if i have to pack it around

i have seen the test of the trimmer heads in water it's a constant load test

So the 12 year old redmax fired on the first pull and ran on the second pull. Then turn the switch off and give it 40 pulls? Turn the switch back on (hear the click) then it fired back up? Will the stihl start with the switch off?

The blade on the redmax shield is missing and he puts too much string out. The guy also has no idea how to run a string trimmer.

Anybody watch the stihl vs troybilt or 6 stihls running at once?

hee,hee,

you forgot the part where he appears to be running the Redmax @ less than full throttle.

i would expect no less from a stihl fanboi.
