I like to see the fire, but man, from what I've read the BK's are the bees knees. I'm sure someone will derail this thread somehow.

I know what you mean. I am leaning towards the summit, but I've talked to a bk owner and she is heating the same basic floor plan and sq. ft. as I am and she loves her princess insert. The dealer has just started selling bk and has sold pacific energy for 10 years, so he is more familiar with the pe products.

Trying to make a decision between the 2 inserts, not a big difference in price, just technology. Any thoughts?

I was in the same situation as you a few years back. Same exact inserts, I went the the BK princess and have no regrets. The BK dealer also showed me the freestanding king model he used in his own home and that helped seal the deal for me to see it in action.

I'm sure the Summit would of been great to but I like the BK, even got a co-worker to purchase BK stove after I told him my experiences with it.

If you have to have an insert get the one with the biggest firebox. I have the summit, its just ok.

The Blaze King Princess is the second most efficient stove made. The first is the Blaze King King model. I have the King Ultra and since having it have sold more stoves locally for BK, that they should be giving me a free one sometime soon. Well at least I wish they would. Two people have bought one locally now after hearing how it works and how I like my stove. The Lopi dealer in town has now started ordering stoves from Blaze King. I have also helped convince a couple people on this site to switch to a BK and they have been very happy thus far that they did. Get the Princess, read the manual, and get used to using less wood while running around in the nude all day. These links have some useful info in them, hope this helps.

The reason I am even looking is because I had a flue fire in a clay lined flue and it is inoperable now. I had a newaire wood burner built in to the downstairs fireplace when the house was built. It is old school but had no problems keeping the house warm using 4 or 5 cords a year until last years mild winter. Anyway, to keep using the newaire Would require an 8 inch liner and either of the new stoves I'm looking at need a 6 inch liner which would be easier to install and hopefully one of the newer inserts would use quite a bit less wood.
