Tree Felling With Bob Vila! WOW

Nice notch eh! GAH! Found this while hunting for Bob's tree cutting video host (seems to have gotten lost, hmmmm) as after a restless night I thought I might find it and give it a slam (just as a warning to those who figured it was the way to do it, dunno, I had a plan of some sort at 4am) but for some reason DIY doesn't post it, wonder why :monkey:

The felling cut was so high that it's a wonder that the tree fell in the direction that the notch was designed for. So much for using the hinge. The angled felling cut dropped the tree. His wedge cut meant practically nothing.

What he should have done was undercut the wedge with the felling cut and let the tree whiplash back on top of him so that viewers would know exactly what NOT to do. Just MHO.

It did air, because I took the video from my dig camera from the DIY channel. I have a Dish Network DVR, I paused it, look down at the right hand corner of the tv, It says right there DIY.
