Get an ms260 for 450.00-475.00, with a few extra chains you will be set for a while.

Haha... You can get the 359 for $424 and it has 10 more cc. And with out a doubt a stock Husky will beet a stock Stihl anyday. The 359 is my favorite ground saw light and powerful even more so when its ported :D . And for asiegler04 saying the 290 and 310 no way there both homeowner saws and there heavy POS. So 359 all the way and for an electric saw I dont know run the 359 first its pretty quiet!

O and heres where you can find the Husky cheap... http://www.pride-mobility-electric-scooters.com/p_husqvarna_chainsaw_chain_saw.htm

A Husky 359 will not even be cloce to the lighter MS361, then both are stock.

It will probably have trouble keeping up with the much lighter PS5100S also, at least in smaller wood......:hmm3grin2orange: :greenchainsaw:

It looks like the 359 is the winner

I want to say thanks for the help.

Now this just leads to new questions.

1. Bar? I'm thinking a 20" and something smaller maybe 16"?

2. What brand Bar?

3. Chain? Type and brand

4. Where to buy? Some of the sites I've come across include
bar and are lower priced but no information is given on the
brand of bar. Here are my 3 site picks from lowest to
highest price.

Good choice! Now I would order from southwest trading. They come with the bar and chain. Im not sure if the other two do... But for a spare bar go husky or oregon and 3/8 .050 for chain. Dont get saftey chain it cuts way to slow.

Money notwithstanding..........when comparing the 359 to the 361 the 359 won't get the nod!!!

Stock the saws are pretty close!!!

Rich is correct. However it isn't that far off especially cutting firewood. A small muffler mod and wad of cash saved can make a guy feel pretty good about the 359. It is far from the dog that people make it out to be, especially those that have never run it and base their opinion off of what a sheet of paper says. :dizzy:

Sorry mang, I plan to trade in all of my Stihls for Huskies, and my Huskies for Stihls as soon as the shop opens in the am. HA-HAA-HA

16" Primary/ 20" Secondary

Hi Chopper:
I cut primarily up in Colrain, MA, Beech, Oak, Maple and run my 2 50cc size saws with 16" bars, they never let me down, keep them sharp and you'll be happy. Husky or Stihl, both have good New England support. I live 2 towns away from Hornett22 and we are covered in Stihl and Husky.

I will say though, in the harder older oaks, I have been let down with the 20" bar, regardless of the sharpness of the chain. The 16" has always done the job in this area for me though. Have a great day, good choice.
