I always used Firefox's spell check. It red underlines suspect words as you type.
Right click on it and it gives you suggested spellings.

I'm not thrilled with the new look, but it isn't all that bright for me, and I don't have any gray bars on the sides, full screen as always. I did have to log in for the first time in a long while, but that should be the last time, I hope. Will need some tweaking, but I doubt the powers that be did it to piss everyone off, so I'll just get used to and learn about it. It would be nice if those in charge put up a sticky telling us the pro's of the new look and a bit of an explanation of new and old features, a web tour so to speak. JR
