I'm getting started on restoring an old bow saw and it badly needs a new chain. The only source for 1/2" I've found so far is ebay, $50 for a loop. If that's the going price so be it, but I am hoping to find some a bit cheaper? TIA

LOL that is cheap. I bet that loop was fairly small to. I have seen it upwards of $4 a LINK

I need a loop for my Homelite 1130G as well, and it wears a 36" bar. I haven't a clue where to get a loop. I'd much rather buy an adapter kit to run a .404 rim on it, but Bill G is out of the adapters, and doesn't sound like he's having any more made.

Full chisel 1/2" is still very desirable for bikesaws, and will bring a premium of anywhere from 4-6$ per drive link.
The rounded semi chisel or "chipper" style chain is less desired and easier to come by so you can pick some up much cheaper.
No company is producing it anymore, so if possible it might be better to switch to .404.

I'm actually surprised the demand isn't enough with all us clowns out there that oregon or someone would not decide to make some small batches of 1/2". has anyone tried asking them?between the bike saws and collectors they could sell it for a premium and it would sell. They certainty would not be losing money that's for sure.

The Chinese will be tickled to make whatever you want. But you have to order 10,000 units. I assume this would be rolls of chain.

Is there anyone out there who has a sprocket for the 1130G that allows running
.404 chain?

I guess that I am going to be in the same predicament as Brad.

Come on Bill. We need rim adapters:)

You and Nik need to get to work... Figured you would have it done by now.
:)

Yep. Somebody get some more of them Homelite gear drive rim-sprocket adapters made please! I'd be interested in at least one..........................and more than a few fellers would be as well...:D
