I made a quick trip to my Stihl dealer to pick up some clutch springs for my MS660 and they are going to cost over $1,000.00! Yep the new German made MS440s are in stock and sitting on the shelf. The wrap versions were not shown as available yet so I have a little time to save up the money, $979.00 for a 28" wrap model, $30.00 less for a flush cutter.

I also picked some cool Stihl water bottles!

Sounds like a steal to me...576xp up here is $1250. They'll likely list for a couple hundo more in these parts even though our dollar is over par.

Wow, a grand for some clutch springs? You could practically buy a new 660 for that! :jawdrop:

Good job on the water bottles though, need pics.

Holy cats! Those are expensive clutch springs! :dizzy:

Must be made out of titanium lol. About that 440 that is a great deal for the bar and wrap. I was throwing around the idea about going to a 460 if my 044 blows up, but since they are still kind of available I may try to find one in the future.

The little "s" means plural, ya know more than one.

No the clutch springs don't cost a thousand bucks. I went in for $12.00 worth of springs and left knowing I was going to spend nearly a grand on a new saw. That is if the 440 will be offered in a wrap version. My dealer will cut me a good deal but with nearly 10% sales tax the total will still be pushing 1 large.

I rather have my 361 ported also then spend 1k. Ill try to look for a used 440 with the mahle cylinder.

I agree thats some BS I dont see many being sold at that price. Ide go with the 460 first.

If they go for that at my dealer... that puts the 441 at $200 cheaper, the 460 at $50 cheaper and the 660 at $50-ish more expensive.

I'll pass...
