that looks like a lot of work...how durable is the dye as compared to paint. does it penetrate the surface?:msp_confused:

Really easy...just remove the plastic parts, clean and degrease after removing the stickers with goof off, get a 5 gallon bucket and 3 packs of rit dye powder. Boil some water (4 gal or so) and pour the water into the bucket. Mix all the dye in the bucket and drop your parts in. Soak 5 hours and reassemble. Easy peasey!

oh that will be cool.....you are right getting rid of the cheesy decals helps it a lot, orange and cream would be a hoot on that saw. I have 3 coming and am looking forward to having fun with them.:cool2:

Dye penetrates the plastic and does not wear off like paint...but black or blue or brown is about the only colors you can use when you start with grey.

Bada$$, man! It doesn't look all Fisher-Price any more

Could probably pass it off as a demonoid Husky to the unsuspecting eye.

dang joe,, i have to admit,,, that is sooooo freaking cool,,, guess i need to get busy doing mine now,, i will not let you and h2h out do me,, good job on it joe :bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:

That dye job is cool, I hope to get around to reassembling mine soon. I have paying work to do and fatty the cat has already had his way with a few screws, no worry though as I've got buckets of fasteners from everything I ever scrapped.

Old Fatty is not bad, he just kinda hangs out in my basement shop and watches things, knocks a few things around and tries to avoid the two mutant cats that are a bit wild. Only time I mind him knocking things around is when I'm doing a gun project or reloading.
